Ingredients

2 slices dry white bread

1/4 t. pepper

3/4 c. water

1 lb. round steak, ground

1 egg

1/2 c. flour

1 med. onion, finely chopped

2 T. butter

1 t. salt

2 T. water

Directions

Soak dry bread in 3/4 c. water.
Add egg and mix with fork until well-blended.
Add onion, salt, pepper, and ground meat.
Mix thoroughly.
Shape into 36-40 meat balls and roll in flour.
Melt butter in frying pan.
Add meat balls and brown well allowing 20-25 min. for browning.
Add 2 T. water.
Cover tightly and cook over low heat 25 min. longer.

Yield: 36-40 meat balls.
